Compositionally, the «Stripes» series presents a geometric routine built from strips in either a vertical, horizontal, or diagonal arrangement. This marked structural linearity not only gives the works in this series a strong graphic character but also introduces a second contradiction. On one hand, the powerful, tactile texture of the paper strips ends up also giving them a marked physicality. On the other, the excess of fragmentation suggests a dematerialization of the piece. The chromatic syntax of this series, as with the previous ones, is also built upon the dominance of the color white, followed by the contrasting alternation of other strips of warm and cold colors.
