Chronologically the first series to be conceived, the compositional solution of the works in the «Squares» series is organized in grids where the basic narrative element is the square. This formal solution recalls the structure of an aged wall or the zenithal view of an orthogonal urban layout.
Some of these works combine the grid with the graphic element of strips of paper pulp that draw lines and construct their own internal dynamic, which dialogues with the dominant grid structure. Others are presented in an irregular format, as in the «Asymmetrical» sub-series, which accentuates its vocation as a residue, even a patch, an unfinished thing.
